CD Storage Racks to Keep Your Music Tidy

There is no doubting that CD’s were a great innovation in the world of music, and later computing. However, they did give us another problem for a while: how can you store CD’s in a way that is both neat and tidy, and that makes them easy to sort and find.

The rapid birth and spread of CD storage racks soon solved that problem, until now we have a great variety of home furniture to store both CD’s and DVD’s. All depends on your tastes in furniture, how many CD’s you have and are likely to have, and where you want to keep them in the home.

Racks for your CD collection can come in all sorts of sizes, from a small desktop rack to go by your home pc, to a large storage tower in the living room that may accommodate hundreds of CD’s. In practice, you may need different types in different rooms, especially if you have a computer in the home office, or have children whose music tastes you would prefer kept to their bedroom.

For the main family collection in the living room, which may be extensive, you have an opportunity to buy a nice piece of furniture that will enhance your décor. After all, your music collection is not something you will want to store on a wooden shelf in the garden shed. You probably want them to have pride of place in the main living area inside your home.

If you have a large music collection on CD, for example more than 1000 CD’s, then you have a wonderful choice of cabinets, wall mounted and free standing CD storage racks to choose from. If you imagine the variety of traditional wood bookcase designs there are, then you can imagine what is available for CD’s. Only, there is more, as revolving or spinning CD towers are an innovation that never really applied to home bookcases.

Wall mounted CD storage is a real space saver, and can be quite handy if you want to keep your toddlers away from them. A four door Mission style cabinet from Leslie Dame, for example, comes in Cherry, Walnut or Oak, and with the glass panels are an attractive décor addition to your home. You can also get apothecary or library style designs, whatever suits your tastes and can house your CD collection.

Take a good look around at the storage racks available for your CD’s as well as DVD’s. You could be pleasantly surprised.
